There’s just something about a butternut squash that lends itself to soup…am I right? I usually am (ask the hubby) This was one of them recipes which I spent years perfecting I made up as I went along but it ended up being so scrumptious that I had to wrack my brains to remember what I did so I can make it again, also The Bestie sampled said soup and demanded the recipe at spoon-point (spoon point is a soup’y version of knife point, less threatening but still instills a level of fear that’s uncomfortable). No Hurry Lamb and Chickpea Curry

I remember the best curry (not from the indian) I have ever eaten, was about 5 years ago at a friends house. It was a whole lamb leg in a jalfrezi sauce. Not really, I’m not Heston, but this is a very cool midweek meal and the kids absolutely loved it.

True to British tradition, this bank holiday has been nothing short of miserable! Grey, damp and not a ray of sun in sight (well here in Somerset anyway!) To top that off I had ‘weigh in’ today after being incredibly indulgent for the last fortnight, and let’s just say, it wasn’t pretty! I deserved it, and I am drawing a line underneath it but I returned home with my tail between my legs needing some good old comfort food to warm my heart and my belly!
